Our approach to autism support
We use evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming therapy. That means we do not try to make autistic people mask who they are. We support genuine communication in whatever form works best for the individual, and we build on strengths rather than focusing only on difficulties.
Every journey starts with getting to know your child or you. We complete a comprehensive assessment of communication across different situations, looking at understanding, expression, social communication and play. From there we design an individualised plan, which may include
- Building understanding, expression and confidence with language
- Supporting AAC, echolalia and gestalt language processing to expand communication options
- Developing conversation, social communication and relationship skills
- Building confidence with self-advocacy at school, university, work and in everyday life
- Understanding social expectations and unwritten communication rules in ways that feel authentic to the individual

Can speech pathology help autistic teenagers and adults?
Yes. Speech pathology isn't just for young children. We support autistic teenagers and adults with social communication, conversations, friendships, self-advocacy, workplace communication, and building confidence in everyday interactions.
Do you try to stop stimming or scripting?
No. We work in a neurodiversity-affirming way. Scripting and echolalia usually serve a purpose, and we help them grow into flexible communication rather than shutting them down.
Do I need a diagnosis to start?
No. You do not need an autism diagnosis to begin speech therapy. Support for communication can start as soon as you reach out.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can contact a speech pathologist directly in Australia.
Is online therapy really suitable for autistic children?
Yes, for many it works very well. Children take part from a familiar, low-sensory home environment, which often supports better engagement than a clinic.
Can we use NDIS funding?
