Initial Consultation

$180

The Initial Consultation is your first meeting with the Speech Pathologist and an opportunity to discuss your concerns and any initial goals for therapy. The Speech Pathologist will start by gathering important background information from you before commencing the assessment process. In some instances, a Subsequent Consultation may also be required to complete the assessment in full.

Please note that in accordance with Speech Pathology Australia requirements, in most cases a written Summary of Findings or Comprehensive Assessment Report is recommended for new clients. More information about these documents and their costs are set out below.

Written Documentation

Summary of Findings - $135

A Summary of Findings is a one-page outline provided to the client at the completion of the assessment process. This documents the client’s attendance at a Speech Pathology service and provides a brief overview of results. A Summary of Findings does not replace, nor resemble, a Comprehensive Assessment Report, which is the recommended document for the purposes of communicating with teachers, stakeholders and/or other health professionals.

Comprehensive Assessment Report - $270

A Comprehensive Assessment Report is the recommended mode of documentation for all new clients and outlines the Speech Pathologist’s findings in full. It includes all scores and results from formal testing, a thorough description of all areas of concern, an interpretation of findings (including any relevant diagnosis, if applicable) and a detailed summary of recommendations.

Subsequent Consultations

Standard - $180

Standard Consultations are regular meetings with your Speech Pathologist that take place weekly or fortnightly following the Initial Consultation. The purpose of these sessions is to provide active intervention for the concerns identified. The number of Standard Consultations required differs from client to client and largely depends on the individual’s rate of progress. The Speech Pathologist will work with you to plan the frequency of these sessions before getting started.

Short - $135

Short Consultations are check-in meetings with your Speech Pathologist that typically take place after a successful period of active intervention. These sessions are focused on reviewing the client’s progress and, where needed, implementing small changes for continued success. In some instances, where endorsed by the Speech Pathologist, Short Consultations may also be utilised for providing active intervention.
