Hi, I’m Julia. Nice to meet you!

Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, having completed my Bachelor of Speech Pathology at the University of Queensland. I have since worked closely with diverse caseloads and other allied health professionals such as occupational therapists, psychologists as well as schoolteachers to provide tailored support to my clients.

I believe that each client is different and there is no “one size fits all” approach. I am dedicated to providing care that is unique to the individual and families by taking on a holistic and client-centred approach. My goal is to create a safe space where my clients feel heard, comfortable, engaged, and most importantly have fun!

I am a certified member of Speech Pathology Australia. I am also trained in Sounds-Write (Literacy), Gestalt Language Processing and feeding. I am dedicated to evidence-based practice, multidisciplinary care and ongoing professional development to expand my knowledge to ensure I support my clients to reach their fullest potential!

Our son has been having speech pathology sessions with Mikaela and we have had a wonderful experience with her. She is always lovely to deal with, punctual and very good at what she does! The online sessions have worked very well for our son and he has now been discharged from therapy. We greatly appreciate her help and are grateful for her assistance and to Care Speech Pathology for providing such a great service.

We are incredibly grateful for the work Sarah does with our 6-year-old son, Rupert, during his speech therapy sessions. Rupert can find it challenging to sit still and stay focused, but Sarah has an amazing ability to keep him engaged throughout their sessions. She makes Rupert feel truly heard and understood, and we've seen such a wonderful improvement in his speech since he started working with her.

Sarah has a warm, personable demeanor that has made her a perfect fit for our energetic and funny little boy. I was looking for telehealth speech Pathologist for my daughter as wait times in our area are long and also I have found previously that my little one would get reluctant to get in the car to attend. So being that we don't have to rush out the house to be somewhere on time has made it so much easier on both of us.

I am so happy to of found Care speech and Sarah our speechy is so calm and great at getting my daughter back on track. My daughter looks forward to seeing Sarah and tells me what she is going to ask or tell her about before the appointments. Previous my daughter was not engaging in speech appointments at all, and its been so wonderful to see her connect with Sarah.

My son has quite a serve CAS diagnosis. Matthew at Care Speech Pathology has gone above and beyond in sessions with Henry. We are already finding meltdowns due to inability to understand him have diminished.

I have nothing bad to say about Care Speech. I honestly didn't think Zoom sessions would help my son to speak but they sure have worked wonders. Matthew Dubery has been patient, kind, and persistent. Thanks Care Speech and Matthew.

I just had the most amazing conversation with my son about a drawing that he had just done of driving and the visual representing a car. He would not have had the confidence or ability to share this prior to starting sessions with wanda, he was able to put some verbal with some sign language and a visual- truly fantastic, incredible and a magical moment to be captured.

I love having weekly appointments with Wanda, one of the therapists care speech have. She understands my daughter and has given me and my great techniques to communicate with each other. Being non verbal has its challenges but I feel like Wanda knows just what to do to help over come these challenges.

Nicole has been absolutely amazing with my 3 year old . Being online it can be absolutely torture for everyone involved but Nicole captivated a busy 3 year old and he has improved so much in his time with her thanks Nicole!

My son Theo has been having speech therapy with Wanda over the last couple of months and the change has been amazing. I was slightly unsure of the online nature but the sessions were awesome and kept Theo engaged and looking forward to the next. Also as soon as Wanda felt Theo was ready to be discharged she said so without stringing us along and taking more money for extra session. 10/10 couldn't recommend highly enough.

I had the pleasure of having Nicole be my sons therapist. She was playful, fun, understanding and most importantly patient. My son isn’t the easiest child to work with but she always found a way. He has come leaps and bounds with his speech and we can’t believe how quickly he advanced!! Highly recommend!

Tabitha Rouke is amazing! My son was diagnosed with ODD among other challenges last year and I had previously had no success in engaging him in Telehealth. Not only has Tabitha successfully engaged my son in all activities each session but it was made fun and he now looks forward to his sessions. I highly recommend Care Speech Pathology, they literally just make everything so easy. Prior to using Care Speech Pathology, I had used a number of Speech Therapist services to support my child but had not had a lot of success. My child's school knew I was looking for an alternative to the local providers in our area so passed on the details for Care Speech Pathology. The team took the time to find out about my child and successfully paired my child with the most appropriate therapist. Katie is kind and patient and very personable, my child looks forward to each session with Katie and I love not having to travel to the appointment. The convenience of doing each session virtually is another tick :)

Tabitha is wonderful and has a great rapport with my son, who can be reluctant to cooperate. They have lots of fun in the sessions while getting down to business. Her communications with me are prompt and the content is thorough. I couldn't rate her, and her admin team, highly enough. I'm very pleased I found her.

We were trying to find a local Speech Therapist but the waiting lists were so long. With COVID and Telehealth appointments we thought we’d give Care Speech Pathology a try. We have been delighted with the service provided. A thorough assessment was completed. Intervention provided on a needs basis, rather than on a predetermined weekly or fortnight basis with ample resources to support the learning at home. We definitely lucked in with Tabitha. Absolutely amazing service! I have been working with Tabitha to help my little girl and she is so patient and flexible with us! I’m so astounded to have found a speech pathologist like her. She genuinely cares about my daughters steps to getting her speech more accurate. I’m just so happy! We are making progress slowly but assuringly (given my daughters capabilities of focusing)
